{"id":212,"date":"2014-05-13T11:42:47","date_gmt":"2014-05-13T11:42:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aronimus.com\/?p=212"},"modified":"2014-05-13T11:44:09","modified_gmt":"2014-05-13T11:44:09","slug":"harun-ponders-bucolic-existence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aronimus.com\/?p=212","title":{"rendered":"Harun embarks upon a sabbatical"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Sabbatical<\/b> or a <b>sabbatical<\/b> (from Latin <i>sabbaticus<\/i>, from Greek <i>sabbatikos<\/i>, from Hebrew <i><a title=\"Shabbat\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Shabbat\">shabbat<\/a><\/i>, i.e., <a title=\"Biblical Sabbath\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Biblical_Sabbath\">Sabbath<\/a>, literally a &#8220;ceasing&#8221;) is a rest from work, or a break, often lasting from two months to a year.<\/p>\n<p>Having tired of the daily grind and general busyness of the city, Harun did have an epiphany and did announce as thus,\u00a0 &#8220;Behold unto me, for I shalt trade this all in and seek a bucolic existence!\u00a0 A sabbatical in the country for me, it shall be! \u00a0 He then did load all his worldly possessions on the back of a Toyota Hilux and in a trailer and head forth to the district of Tararua.\u00a0 Alas, the local deities of the Wellington region were loathe to part with the trapped soul of Harun.\u00a0 They did smote the Hilux as it made it&#8217;s journey and it did come to a halt on the side of the road.\u00a0 Enshrouded in clouds of steam and trailing a stream of orange water, it was a sorry sight. \u00a0 Harun was all very puzzled by such goings on for Hiluxes do not break down!\u00a0 They are indestructible are they not?\u00a0 Did not Top Gear prove such things?\u00a0 Renown for their reliability, they are &#8220;good for jihad&#8221; as a member of the Taliban once quoted.<\/p>\n<p>Harun did ponder on whether he was being smote for having thrown an old framed picture of Jesus into the landfill, that very afternoon.\u00a0 It happened to land face up, looking right at him and an old Ministry lyric did come to mind.\u00a0 He did then pronounce\u00a0\u00a0 &#8220;Higher!\u00a0 Blasphemer!\u00a0\u00a0 Praise Jesus&#8230;\u00a0 Praise Jesus&#8230;&#8221; for it seemed the right thing to do at the time.\u00a0 The next day, after having secured his worldly possessions\u00a0 and safe in the knowledge that a rescue party was on the way, Harun did hang a painting of Christ in the tree in penance.\u00a0 From his vantage in the forest, Christ did oversee the workings of Harun that morning. \u00a0\u00a0 It had become apparent to Harun, whilst sitting in contemplation on the side of the road, that one did not require so many possessions and that they were but a hindrance.\u00a0 More so, they did put at risk, those things that were important. \u00a0 He then did renounce a whole wagon load of his worldly possessions and did bestow it upon the landfill and the recycle centre.<\/p>\n<p>A herald from the countryside did come unto Harun and usher him and his diminished worldly possessions unto their new life in the countryside.\u00a0 A bucolic sabbatical.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sabbatical or a sabbatical (from Latin sabbaticus, from Greek sabbatikos, from Hebrew shabbat, i.e., Sabbath, literally a &#8220;ceasing&#8221;) is a rest from work, or a break, often lasting from two months to a year.
